Major Project: The Bookcase

I had initially planned to create planes with bookends drawn onto to fill each shelf, but after going over my storyboard realised the bookshelf interior would only be featured in one particular scene, when looking at Stevie's Vivarium. I therefore went ahead and set upo the camera for this scene so I knew what angle to work with, and simply added in book models to fill the gaps, which I feel gives a better look than flat planes would, but still means I dont need to create lots of different textures for books for the whole shelf. Through setting up this camera I also realised the section of glass below the doors of this vivarium was a little too tall, and the plastic over the top would cut into the view of the vivarium quite a bit, so adjusted that and the glass door height as well.

Major Project: Boots' Vivarium Model

The substrate I needed to add little tunnels into as her burrows, shes on the same snake lignocel substrate as the other snake enclosures featured. Also making another appearance are the Exo Terra brand hides and bowls that I have so many of.

The top and front are glass. There will also be planes of plant textures.

Major Project - Spyro Vivarium Model

Spyros Vivarium is an "unlocked feature" of the game. At the beginning of the animation there will be floor cupboards underneath the desk, which are later then replaced by Spyros vivarium to show game progression. Here I also created Exo Terra brand hides and dishes, which come in a cariet of sizes and I have duplicates of in many sizes in lots of my vivariums, so I can simply duplicate these models and use them across multple terrestrial vivariums, which will also I feel help to tie the environment design together as well as being accurate to my real life setups.

There is a hammock in this vivarium, which is also a vivarium especially designed for bearded dragons as it has the built in platforms, as beardies do like to climb and providing them with multiple levels means they have more area to move around the vivarium for enrichment and also temperature regulation. I plan to create this hammock with a textured plane, using the same technique as I will be for the plants.

Pip's Pet Post - Gargoyle Gecko Anniversary!

Today I had the photo on the left come up on my phone photo memories, just a few weeks after getting my gargoyle hatchling trio, while the photo on the right I happened to take just last night. These are both of the same gargoyle gecko, Littlefoot, my male mono stripe. I'm so so pleased with how much hes grown in this last year, hes such a chunky precious boy.
